The Wedding Shower

Beth here:
On Sunday, August 3rd, my mother threw us a wedding shower. She decorated in lavender tule and lavender and white balloons. It was gorgeous! She made quiche, ham, muffins, fruit salad and fabulous desserts! About 22 of our family and friends were there to wish us well! We received so many wonderful gifts and were just amazed at the outpouring of love for us! I loved being able to spend time with my aunts and cousin and Liz loved spending time with all of her brothers. The games were fun and a bit embarrassing, but we made it through them! ;) All in all, it was a fabulous shower and we couldn't thank my mom enough! It was beautiful and so thoughtful. Thank you, Mom, you're the best!

Some pictures will be posted soon.

The Bachelorette Party - Success!

Beth here:
My best friends, Amanda, (pictured here with me) her partner Leslea, and Laura, threw me a FABULOUS bachelorette party on July 18th in Columbia! Amanda made a rainbow strap-on dildo cake that was really tasty!! She also made boobie chocolate candies that were yummy and fun to eat! We played "Pin the boobs on the pinup" game, which was quite fun. She made me a rainbow "I (heart) Liz" t-shirt that I wore that night. I also had to wear a boobie necklace, a pink sash, and a headband with boobs that wiggled on top! Laura decorated the house and made a nice large framed picture of Liz and I. She also provided the lube party favors and a dildo necklace! I got to see a bunch of friends that I haven't seen in a long time: Serena, AJ, Alley, Jaime, Laura and met new friends, like Leslea and Don! (yes, there was one boy there. lol) We then went out to my favorite Columbia restaurant, Osaka, and had sushi. Later we went to SoCo bar and watched a drag show and danced until almost 2am. It was a great time and a great way to celebrate!!! Thanks for everything, Amanda, Leslea and Laura!!

Our Dream Honeymoon- the special touches

When we went to Walt Disney World last December (where we got engaged- a huge surprise for Liz!) we tried to get reservations for Cinderella's Royal Table Breakfast. It's also called The "Once Upon a Time Breakfast". These reservations sell out sometimes a year in advance! Basically you get to have breakfast with Cinderella, The Fairy Godmother, Belle, Aurora, and Snow White. Guess WHERE!!?? INSIDE Cinderella's Castle. That's right, up inside! It's a small, intimate breakfast with the princesses! When we arrive at Cinderella's Castle for breakfast, a photographer will be on hand to take pictures of us, before we are seated in the dining room. A package with four 4x6 prints and one 6x8 print of our photo, as well as one 6x8 print of Cinderella's Castle, in a Cinderella photo frame will be delivered to us during our meal. The photo package is included!
We so wanted to do it last year, but we couldn't get reservations. This year, everything fell into place perfectly for us! We can't wait for a little princess fairy tale time! What a perfect way to celebrate the start of our "Happily Ever After".

Our Dream Honeymoon- the hotel

We will be spending our honeymoon at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL from Sept. 6 - 13. We have gone "all out" and will be staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, a deluxe resort! It is African themed and the rooms have balconies that open up to a savannah with animals right there. All of the staff at the hotel are from Africa and they do storytelling at a firepit outside at night, on the savannah. All of the roofs are handmade, real thatch roofs made by artisans brought there from Africa. In the resort lobby they have the largest African art collection in outside of Africa. All of the wood headboards in the bedrooms are hand-carved by artists in Africa, and are unique and individual from room to room. There is a huge pool, hot tub, and a creek running through the grounds of the resort and pool. The resort has two reservation-only restaurants, and one casual dining restaurant. We have reservations at Jiko's, which is a 4-star restaurant with a dress code. They have the largest collection of African wines in North America. The food is gourmet African. We also have reservations at Boma's, which translates to "the meeting place".

We're so excited for the whole experience! When we went to Walt Disney World last year, we were so jealous of the people staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge. We feel so lucky that we get to stay there for our honeymoon! It really is a dream come true!
